Helicopter Crash In Montana Claims Members Of Gubernatorial Candidates Family

The entire political community and State expressed sorrow upon learning that four members of former State Senator Darren Bailey’s family died Wednesday in a helicopter crash in Montana. Capitol News Illinois reports that Bailey’s campaign for governor released a statement saying Bailey’s son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren were aboard the helicopter. Circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear. The NTSB said it is investigating a helicopter crash in the southeast part of Montana. Bailey is one of six Republican candidates running for Illinois governor in 2026.
