
On September 28, 2025 around 4:11 pm, Danville Police responded to a report of a motorized bicycle versus vehicle traffic crash in the area of Harmon Street and Voorhees Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 43-year-old Danville man with severe injuries after striking a GMC Terrain. Medical Personal arrived to render aid and the patient was transported to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. DPD officers immediately began investigating the scene and were later assisted by the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team. A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the motorized bicycle, traveling northbound on Harmon Street, failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of Harmon Street and Voorhees Street. The GMC Terrain, traveling eastbound on Voorhees Street, was struck on the passenger-side door by the motorized bicycle as it passed through the intersection. No other injuries were reported during this incident. The investigation into this
incident continues.
In a follow up report, the Vermilion County Coroner, Jane McFadden stated that the late afternoon vehicle accident at the intersection of Harmon Street and Voorhees Street in Danville involving two vehicles resulted in the death of a 43-year-old Danville man. The victim has been identified as Garrell D. Hall. The accident occurred at approximately 4:11 p.m. Mr. Hall’s family was notified and an autopsy was scheduled for this afternoon. The Danville Police Department, The Illinois State Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s office continue to investigate.
