A potential candidate for Congress was in Danville Wednesday. State Senator Willie Preston visited the Roselawn Fitness Center to introduce himself. When asked why people in Danville should look to him for good representation, he said he, as a father of six children, understood the needs of average working people.
When asked about his experience and qualifications, he pointed to his hands on life experiences as a working person combined with his experience as a legislator in the State of Illinois, noting that many U.S. Congress representatives and Senators have similar legislative experience in budgeting and appropriations at the state level before moving to the U.S. Congress. But he also emphasized his hands on working experience as giving him insight into the needs of average people.
