The Fisher Theater is having a special event- FischerFest: The Cinematic Legacy of Gene Hackman. The two-day film festival will celebrate Danville’s Hackman. The event is August 16 and 17 at the Fischer Theatre in Danville, Illinois. Saturday films feature Bonnie and Clyde, The French Connection and Unforgiven. Sunday’s films include Crimson Tide and The Royal Tenenbaums. Sunday’s events also include Dessert and Discussion between films, catered by The Local, with a special art presentation by Katie Weston. The festival includes behind-the-scenes facts from Illinois film critics, live creation of a Hackman portrait, commemorative t-shirts, food from Norah’s Smokehouse and Fischer concessions, Hackman memorabilia, and themed cocktails.
