While the Mighty Bresee has come down, a considerable amount of debris remains. The City of Danville advises that Main Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic the morning of July 3rd. As debris removal continues, increased truck activity is expected in the area. The northernmost lane of Main Street, which was closed prior to the start of demolition, will remain closed. Parking spaces on the west side of Vermilion Street will remain unavailable to accommodate ongoing traffic. It is anticipated that the debris clean up will be completed around or before Labor Day, dependent on any unexpected delays.
