County Board member Ryan Goodner, just recently appointed in April of this year to fill a vacancy in Board District 1, has apparently resigned his seat to take the position of Interim Animal Control Director. Inquiries as to the status of Kasey Snyder, previously listed as Director, have went unanswered, but Kasey Snyder’s name has been removed from the web page for the Animal Control Department.
In his announcement relayed to the media, Chairman Steve Miller stated:
“There are many difficult decisions that will be made regarding the finances of the department and the physical condition of the Tilton facility.
The care of the animals coming to the shelter remains a paramount concern of the County. Contrary to anonymous rumors, no new policies or changes to policies, pertaining to euthanasia have been undertaken.
We are looking into the physical condition of the Animal Shelter as it has deteriorated and needs correction for the health and safety of the animals, staff, and visiting public.
I am confident Ryan Goodner can provide the necessary competence and leadership to make the Animal Shelter a first class facility and I look forward to working with him.”
