Downtowns are decorating for Christmas and that includes Danville. To do the job, streets may be closed off as indicated in this media release from the City of Danville:
Danville, October 26, 2026 – The City of Danville would like to notify residents and motorists
that temporary traffic restrictions will occur along Vermilion Street in downtown Danville, from
Main Street to Madison Street, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today and throughout the remainder
of this week as Public Works crews continue installing holiday lights.
Certain areas may be temporarily blocked off at different times throughout the day to allow
crews to safely install lights on trees and complete other holiday decorating preparations.
Motorists are asked to follow all directions from flaggers, use alternate routes when necessary,
and exercise caution when traveling through the work area.
Public Safety Reminder: Please slow down, remain alert, and give crews plenty of space to work
safely. Do not enter barricaded areas or attempt to drive around traffic control points. We
appreciate your patience and cooperation as our crews work to prepare downtown Danville for
the holiday season!
