

Danville Police recover weapon: On September 10, 2026 at approximately 12:31 p.m., officers with the Danville Police Department were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of E. Main Street for a fight that had occurred in the business.
An officer responding to the scene located two subjects walking in the immediate area that matched the clothing description given by witnesses. When the officer tried stopping the individuals they ran into a house in the 1300 block of E. Main Street.
After several minutes, the suspects emerged from the residence and were placed into custody.
The suspects were identified as Demetrius Vaughn and Davion Carey, both 19, of Danville.
A court ordered search warrant was granted for the residence that Vaughn and Carey fled to. During the search officers and detectives located two firearms, one of which having a machine gun conversion device, making it automatic.
Both Vaughn and Carey were arrested on the charges of mob action, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful use of a weapon – machine gun.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
