EIBL Announces Post-Season Honors, Matchups

The Eastern Illinois Baseball League has announced their League Awards and postseason matchups. Blake Hoveln of Royal wins the Ralph Loschen Award for Most Outstanding Player. The winner of the Virgil Scheiwe Award for Most Outstanding Pitcher goes to Braden Roesch of Buckley and the Dick Franzen Award for the League Batting Champion goes to Dalton Busboom of Paxton with a .459 average. The EIBL Regular Season Champions were the Royal Giants with a 15-1 record. The Divisional Round of the postseason will play out Sunday with the opening game at St. Joseph pitting Arcola against White Heath with a 12 p.m. first pitch. The winner will take on the #1 seed Royal Giants at 3 p.m. The other matchup will be a 2 p.m. first pitch at Paxton with Paxton facing off against Buckley. The championship series will be held the following weekend.
