
The Danville Police issued an update on a homicide in the City of Danville. On July 26, 2026, at approximately 2:38 p.m., 18-year-old Nathan Gray Jr. of Danville turned himself in at the Public Safety Building. Gray had an outstanding Vermilion County warrant for his arrest with the charge of First-Degree Murder.
The arrest warrant stemmed from the investigation into the shooting death of 24-year-old Krisean Watson of Danville on July 10, 2026.
On July 10, 2026, at approximately 8:27 p.m., members of the patrol division were dispatched to the 300 block of Plum Street for a subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. Jane McFadden, the Vermilion County Coroner, identified the victim as Krisean Watson of Danville.
The Danville Police Department located and arrested two suspects on the following charges: Aggravated Battery – Public Way, Mob Action, and First-Degree Murder. The suspects arrested are identified as Javonte Forman, 19, of Danville, and Erik Jimenez, 19, also from Danville. Now a third person is in custody for the murder.
The Danville Police Department would like to remind the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
