On May 13th at 10 AM Deputies and Police Officers gathered to salute those who have given their lives in the cause of public safety. The names of the fallen were read aloud: August Lind, fallen April 10, 1908, David Farnsworth, fallen January 27, 1976, and Myron Deckard, fallen June 6, 2001. The ceremony was well attended by citizens as well, with Schlarman Academy sending a group of students to pay respects as well. Danville Police Chief Chris Yates and Sheriff Pat Hartshorn presented honor wreathes and saluted the fallen officers. All officers who continue to serve were also honored for their service.
