The Danville Flyers Hockey team announced its season opener at the Palmer Arena on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with puck drop at 7:00 PM CDT. The team invites the community to join them for a night of exciting hockey and to support a great cause. Door opens at 6pm and admission to the season opener is free. In the spirit of giving back, the Danville Flyers will be collecting monetary and new, unwrapped toy donations at the door for Toys for Tots of Vermilion County. Every donation will help bring joy to less fortunate children in the community this holiday season. Adding to the excitement, following the Flyers’ first goal of the game, fans are encouraged to participate in a stuffed animal toss on the ice. All collected stuffed animals will also be donated to Toys for Tots. Additionally, attendees can participate in a silent auction featuring approximately 20 gift baskets, with all proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots. The Danville Flyers are committed to supporting their community and youth hockey programs. This season opener is an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy a night of hockey while contributing to a meaningful cause. Monetary and new, unwrapped toy donations for Toys for Tots of Vermilion County are accepted at the door. The team’s goal is to keep hockey alive in Vermilion County while supporting the community and youth hockey programs. All proceeds from their games are donated to local charities.
