Earthrise Energy will be hosting three community information sessions on the controversial solar project proposed along Catlin-Tilton Road. Sessions will be held at the Danville Public Library on Monday, September 8th, from 11:30 to 1:00pm, and again at 7 to 8:30pm. A third session will be held Tuesday morning, September 9th, from 8:30-10am. Sessions will feature Earthrise Environmental and Safety Director, Engineering, and other representatives. Earthrise has been trying to ingratiate itself with the community, most recently with a $25,000 donation to the Vermilion County Child Advocacy Center through their Rise Grant Program. Representatives have also championed the increased tax revenue for school districts; however, many local residents have voiced their opposition to solar projects on productive farmland.
