Man arrested after warrant executed

A Danville man was arrested Monday after police executed a knock and announce search warrant. Deputy Chief Terry McCord said police went to the unit block of Stroup Street to execute the warrant obtained with assistance from the Vermilion county State’s Attorney. Police arrested 40-year-old Lafayette Harper on an outstanding warrant. Harper was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. All charges were developed from a complaint and investigation conducted by the Danville police.
