The plan to bring three restaurants to the former Turk Furniture building in downtown Danville is over…at least for now.
Mayor Rickey Williams announced that the developer is no longer interested in the plan and the building is now for sale. The price is 350 thousand dollars.
The plan was for the building to be turned into a bakery, a barbecue restaurant, and an Italian restaurant. The owners of the bakery earlier announced that it will still be opened in Danville, but at a different location.
Williams says the city had not received updates from the developer and was concerned, but officials were surprised to see the building across the street from the Fisher Theatre was for sale. He said the good news is that the city is working with local developers who could bring an even better project to the city. He said these developers have already been responsible for several new businesses in Danville.
