Barbara Bailey, chairwoman of the Danville Election Commission, has announced her retirement. Bailey has served 40 years on the commission.
Bailey started as an election judge. He said she is proud of the work of the commission for the past 40 years. The Danville Election Commission is in charge of conducting elections in the city of Danville. It also handles voter registration, trains election judges, creates ballot layouts, communicates election results, and creates polling places
Bailey’s replacement on the 3 member commission is appointed by the Presiding Circuit Judge.
