Police probe shooting

Danville Police are investigating a shooting that left a man hospitalized.  Police responded to the 600 block of North Griffin Street Sunday morning in reference to shots being fired. Officers began investigating the incident when they were notified that a gunshot victim had arrived at the OSF emergency room.

Officers spoke to the 30-year old victim. He said he was at a party when there was an altercation among several people.  The victim said he was attempting to leave when he heard several shots and was struck by  the gunfire. He has been listed in stable condition with several wounds to the groin area. No other injuries were reported.  No other information is being released at this time.
