Apartment building damaged in fire

A Danville apartment building was heavily damaged by a fire Friday morning. A woman who lived the building was at home when the fire occurred, but escaped without harm, according to Fire Chief Aaron Marcott.

Danville firefighters were dispatched to 428 Harmon and found the building heavily involved in flames. They searched the building while battling the blaze.  Firefighters fought the flames for nearly 5 hours.  Damage is estimated at 30 thousand dollars. The cause of  the fire is under investigation.
