Throughout the month of October, the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office hosted its 6th
Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Supply Drive. Items were collected to benefit
Crosspoint Domestic Violence and Transitional Shelter and Vermilion County Restoration
Women & Children’s Shelter (formerly Dayspring).
Donation boxes were hosted by community partners, Mad Goat Coffee in Danville, Flowers On
Main in Georgetown and The Pink Poodle & Unique Boutique in Hoopeston. Items collected this
year included bed linens, blankets, clothing, socks, personal care items, non-perishable food
items and handmade winter hats. The items were delivered to both shelters on November 15,
2023.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy said, “We would like to thank the citizens of Vermilion County
for coming together again to support victims of domestic violence in our community. Domestic
violence is a crime that affects people from all walks of life and it takes an emotional toll on the
entire family. My office and I will continue our mission to hold domestic abusers accountable
and to support victims and their families.”
