Danville homes sought for holiday lighting contest

Item provided by City of Danville

Every year, you have that one neighbor that outdoes everyone, right (or you are that person)? They light up their homes like Clark Griswold and brighten up the whole neighborhood! On the other hand, maybe their decorations are a bit simpler and more sophisticated yet beautiful to behold. Whether silly or serious, bold or basic, decorating your home could certainly light up someone’s life this season! Therefore, we are continuing the fun with our third annual "Light up Danville" Outdoor Decorating Contest.

To enter: decorate your home’s exterior and submit your address and household name to Community Relations Administrator, Ashton Greer, via email at agreer@cityofdanville.org by Wednesday, November 29 at the latest!

The City will create a list of houses for folks to drive by and see. Once the list is complete, we will share it on the City website and on City social media accounts! You have three weeks to take the tour and vote on the pinned voting post!

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in two categories: City Selection and People’s Choice Awards.

The City Selection will be made by Mayor Williams and City Team Members. The People’s Choice will be made by you via vote as follows:

To vote: (1 vote/user allowed) post a picture you snap of your favorite decorated home along with the address on the designated FB post by Wednesday, December 20 at 12 AM!

1st Place Prizes: Each category winner receives a $200 Lowes Gift card and an engraved traveling holiday trophy that you can proudly display until next holiday season, and you will be the Grand Marshal of the Night of Lights parade in 2024!

2nd Place Prizes: Each category winner receives a $100 Lowes Gift Card!

3rd Place Prizes: Each category winner receives a $50 Lowes Gift Card!

Prizes are sponsored by Heather Cunningham with Classic Homes Realty!
