Champaign County will get seven electric vehicle charging infrastructure under a grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The program totaling $12.6 million will fund 348 new Direct Current Fast Charging ports at 87 locations throughout Illinois. These grants were made by the State of Illinois with the remaining money in a The Volkswagen settlement.
